File Import & Export

Use file import when you already have text somewhere else.

Use export when you want to save or share a finished artifact.

Import A File​

  1. Open Recordings.
  2. Tap Type to Convert.
  3. Tap the upload button.
  4. Choose a file.
  5. Wait for AIFor.ms to pull out the text.
  6. Choose a conversion.

Supported Import Files​

AIFor.ms can read text from:

  • .txt
  • .md
  • .docx
  • .csv
  • .xlsx
  • .xls
  • .pdf
  • .png
  • .jpg
  • .jpeg
  • .webp
  • .svg

Some mobile file pickers may show fewer choices than the server can read. If that happens, try importing from web.

Import Limits​

The hard upload ceiling is 25 MB.

Export A Final Artifact​

  1. Open a recording.
  2. Open a conversion artifact.
  3. Tap share or download.
  4. Choose the format.

Available formats can depend on the artifact and platform:

  • .txt
  • .md
  • .pdf
  • .docx
  • .csv
  • .py
  • .sql
  • .sh
  • .ps1
  • .bat

Notes:

  • PDF export is not shown on web.
  • CSV is mainly for Spreadsheet conversions.
  • Markdown appears when Markdown output is enabled.

Files Area​

Signed-in users can also use Files to find saved conversion text.

In Files, you can:

  • Search saved files.
  • Open a saved file.
  • Copy or share file content.
  • Rename files.
  • Move files into folders.
  • Create folders and subfolders.
  • Delete files or custom folders.

System folders are created automatically for conversion types.
